Jesús resucita el domingo y su primer encuentro es con María Magdalena; pero cuidado, no es la prostituta que limpia sus pies, ni María la hermana de Lázaro, que también limpia sus pies, es María Magdalena, mujer acaudalada que seguía a Jesús y le ayudaba a él y a los apóstoles con su dinero (Lc 8, 1-3), mucho ojo, porque para seguir a Jesús debemos de despojarnos de muchas cosas y entre ellas el amor al dinero y con él, ayudar a nuestra iglesia y a los que nada tienen y le ordena, que les avise a sus hermanos. Es precisamente a esta mujer, la que se refiere san Juan en una narración bellísima y delicada de la aparición de Jesús después de resucitar (Jn 20, 11-18).
Y María corre a buscar a sus hermanos y le cuenta a Pedro y a Juan que ha visto a Jesús, esta es la resurrección, este hecho real, es el que nos hace diferentes a las otras religiones porque nuestro Dios es un Dios vivo, no un creador de una filosofía o religión, que está muerto, el creador del cristianismo, de nuestra iglesia católica, está vivo, está con nosotros y somos tan dichosos, los que ayudan al pobre, que pueden ver su rostro, en cada uno, de los que visitan.
Por esto, los vicentinos, los que dan limosnas, los que visitan las cárceles, los que visitan los hospitales, los que visitan los asilos repletos de ancianos olvidados por sus parientes, sólo tendremos la experiencia de ver al Señor y anunciárselo a los pobres, cuando nos vaciemos de los elementos caducos de la percepción humana y penetremos en nuestro interior, para descubrir a Jesús resucitado, porque primero tiene que resucitar en nuestro corazón para después poderlo comunicar a todos.
Pidamos en silencio ante la tumba y la cruz vacía, que Jesús, nos de fuerza para seguir sus huellas y que nunca dejemos al necesitado, porque esa será la única forma, de un día no muy lejano, estar a su lado para siempre. Amén.

THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS FOR A VINCENTIAN

For this reason, the Vincentians, those who give alms, those who visit prisons, those who visit hospitals, those who visit nursing homes full of elderly people forgotten by their relatives, will only have the experience of seeing the Lord and announcing him to the poor, when we empty ourselves of the obsolete elements of human perception and penetrate within ourselves, to discover the risen Jesus, because first he has to rise again in our hearts so that we can then communicate him to everyone.
Let us ask in silence before the tomb and the empty cross, that Jesus give us the strength to follow in his footsteps and that we never leave the needy, because that will be the only way, one day not too far off, to be by his side forever. Amen.
