El Papa ha pedido no "eternizar" a nadie en los altos cargos (servicios me parece mejor llamarlos) de los Movimientos religiosos y que "sea siempre el mismo o la misma", algo que ha señalado como "una cosa fea" porque ninguna persona es "indispensable".
"Todos son buenos, pero no todos son indispensables. No somos indispensables. Termino este trabajo de coordinador o coordinadora, (de presidente o presidenta), no sé cómo se llama allí, ya sea del grupo, de los países o en general, me voy a casa, es decir, entro en los grupos como una persona normal y corriente. 'No, pero yo hice esto, ahora me toca...'. No toca nada, ¡a ti te toca ir a casa!, ha reflexionado el Pontífice.
"Jamás aislarse ni encerrarse nunca", ha exclamado el Papa, que ha pedido "hacer comunidad buscando la armonía y la unidad internamente en el Movimiento y externamente en la Iglesia y en los lugares donde se está insertado".
El Pontífice ha insistido en el concepto de "comunión" con los miembros de un Movimiento determinado al que se dirigía el Pontífice, el pasado mes de mayo.
El Papa ha dicho que "no se trata de reuniones organizativas" porque "no es el 'consejo de administración' de una empresa, sino de encuentros fraternos para redescubrir las motivaciones y el impulso de la fe que todos han experimentado desde el primer día de llegada a la Organización de que se trate, en el que han participado y que les ha hecho dar un giro en su vida".
Efectivamente, aunque a veces nos parece que lo que se pretende es que se puedan parecer a consejos de administración. Nada más lejos de lo que deben ser nuestros objetivos apostólicos como bien señala el Papa.
Me ha gustado mucho lo escrito por el Santo Padre y salvando todas las enormes distancias, he recordado un artículo publicado en esta página un ya lejano 21 de mayo de 2019.
Servidores, eso es lo que somos cada uno de los consocios de las Conferencias: Venimos, servimos y a casa, como bien señala Francisco. Hay muchas formas de servir, más allá de los servicios más visibles. Dios nos libre del “carrerismo” dentro de las Organizaciones apostólicas.
Dentro de unos meses, algo más de un año, elegiremos en las Conferencias de San Vicente de Paúl a un nuevo presidente/a general. Es un momento difícil para cada organización elegir a quien va a ayudarnos a seguir la filosofía de nuestra Fundación. Pero profundamente importante.
Desde el pobre punto de vista de este consocio que firma, deberemos buscar un consocio o consocia, con demostrada profundidad espiritual. Que sepa sobre todo ayudar a trabajar y entregarse a los otros: a los que sufren. Que conozca y nos hable de nuestra Regla. Que sea un ser humano de oración y finalmente en estos momentos de necesidad de crecimiento del número de Conferencias y de consocios que nos ayuden y ayudemos a santificarse, que sea original de alguno de los países que más crecen, para que nos enseñe cómo crecer en el resto del mundo.
También será importante, humanamente, que tenga conocimientos gerenciales, pero que no pretenda gerenciar a las Conferencias: sólo servirlas para que sean más auténticas. Que conozca en profundidad, si es posible, los cuatro idiomas fundamentales de las Conferencias en el mundo: el francés, inglés español además del portugués, que le van a permitir acercarse a los consocios y ser comprendido y comprenderlos. Que sepa hacer de nuestros colaboradores asalariados, unos miembros más de las Conferencias, tratándolos con el debido cariño y atención a su formación.
Y con todas aquellas virtudes necesarias para su servicio con las que Él quiera dotarle/a. Elevemos nuestra oración para que elijamos al mejor o a la mejor.

The Pope has asked not to "perpetuate" anyone in the high positions (I think it is better to call them services) of religious Movements and no to "have always the same person", something that he has pointed out as "an ugly thing" because no one is "indispensable".
"Everyone is good, but not everyone is essential. We are not indispensable. I finish this job of coordinator, (of president or chairwoman), I don't know what it is called there, whether it is of the group, of countries or in general, I go home, that is, I go into the groups as a normal person. ‘No, but I did this, now it's my turn to...'. It's not your turn, it's your turn to go home!" the Pontiff reflected.
"Never isolate oneself or shut oneself in", exclaimed the Pope, who called for "making community by seeking harmony and unity internally in the Movement and externally in the Church and in the places where we are established".
The Pontiff has insisted on the concept of "communion" with the members of a particular Movement addressed by the him last May.
The Pope said that "these are not organisational meetings" because "it is not the 'board of directors' of a company, but fraternal meetings to rediscover the motivations and the impulse of faith that everyone has experienced from the first day of arrival at the Organisation in question, in which they have participated and which has made them turn their lives around".
Indeed, although it sometimes seems to us that they are intended to look like boards of directors, nothing could be further from what our apostolic objectives should be, as the Pope rightly points out.
I liked very much what the Holy Father wrote, and, despite the enormous distance, I have remembered an article published on this website on 21 May 2019.
Servants, that is what we are, each one of the members of the Conferences: We come, we serve and we go home, as Francis rightly points out. There are many ways of serving, beyond the most visible services. God save us from "careerism" within apostolic organisations.
In a few months, a little over a year, we will be electing a new President General in the Conferences of St. Vincent de Paul. It is a difficult time for every organisation to choose who will help us to follow the philosophy of our Foundation. But it is deeply important.
From the humble point of view of this undersigned member, we must look for a member with proven spiritual depth. Who, above all, knows how to help work and give himself or herself to others, to those who suffer. That he/she knows and speaks to us about our Rule. He should be a human being of prayer and finally, now that we need to increase the number of Conferences and fellow members to help us and to help them to become sanctified, he should come from one of the countries that are growing the most, so that he can teach us how to grow in the rest of the world.
It will also be important, in human terms, that he/she has management skills, but that he/she does not pretend to manage the Conferences: only to serve them in order to make them more authentic. If possible, he should have a thorough knowledge of the four fundamental languages of the Conferences in the world: French, English, Spanish, as well as Portuguese, which will allow him to approach his fellow members and to be understood and to understand them. That he knows how to make our salaried collaborators into members of the Conferences, treating them with due affection and care for their training.
And with all the necessary virtues for their service with which He wishes to endow them. Let us raise our prayer that we may choose the best.
